PTSD Checklist for DSM-5
PCL-5
General
The PCL-5 includes 20 items representing the 20 PTSD symptoms according to DSM-5. The individual indicates on a five-point response scale from 0 (not at all) to 4 (very much) how much they have been affected by the listed symptoms in the past month. The completion time is 5-10 minutes. Scoring can be done in four ways: 1. one total score for all items; 2. five symptom clusters; 3. preliminary diagnosis according to DSM-5 criteria; 4. diagnosis according to recommended cut-off score of 31-33 (possibly lower for screening, higher for preliminary diagnosis).
Operation Area
The PCL-5 is a self-assessment instrument for screening of PTSD, in follow-up diagnosis or for preliminary PTSD diagnosis.
